Enjoyed some more good weather on Sunday and avoided the winds that were forecast for today. I had heard about the Lovelock Derby Airport (KLOL) having an old aircraft parked out front of the terminal building and wanted to check it out first hand. I believe it's an old Russian Mig, but not 100% sure of that. The airport was busy today while we were there, several aircraft were stopping for fuel after departing the High Sierra Fly-In just north of Reno. Inside the terminal you'll find free wi-fi, comfortable restroom, and a lot of photos capturing military airmen from the Lovelock, NV area.
After last weeks brutal weather, it was good to get out into the crisp, fall weather. Typical day in Reno and Southern Nevada with great visibility and no bumps for a change. Winds were fairly light, so flying closer to the mountains was acceptable for a change. Some photos from today's flight to Mammoth-Yosemite Airport (KMMH). Snow is back at some of the higher elevations. Winter is almost here.
