Got up this morning and decided to take a local hop up and around the Lake Tahoe area. They got some new snow last night (we got rain on this side of the mountain) and it looked really cool with the new layer of snow.
So I finally figured out what the heck I was doing with the GoPro video editing. :)
Not a bad first effort and I still have a lot to learn and expect better videos in the future.
Had a really great day to fly today with clear skies and unlimited visibility, so we packed up the Mooney and headed North to Klamath Falls, Oregon. It was a little bumpy around some of the passes as strong winds and thermals from the warmer weather created some unstable air. We did fly close to Mount Shasta and got some great pictures, the peak sits at 14,162 feet above sea level. There is a restaurant in the passenger terminal so we grabbed some lunch while waiting for the line guys to fuel up the plane.
Beautiful day for a quick flight over to Placerville Airport (KPFV). Little bumpy going across the Sierra's, but nothing horrible. California was a little hazy on their side, but visibility was still 20+ miles in all directions. Snow hit us hard on March 28th with 7" of the white fluffy stuff. It was all melted by Thursday except for the mountain areas as you can see below. The ski operations love that since this should extend the season for a few more weeks.
